Event Overview
The Gursidak Foundation successfully hosted its second Athletic Meet on June 29th at Ryan International School, Sector 66, Mohali. The event was marked by enthusiastic participation from 108 students representing the Chandigarh and Mohali Education Centres. The Athletic Meet aimed to foster a spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie among the students.
Special Guests
The event was graced by the presence of two esteemed guests. The first guest of honor was Arjun Azad, a renowned Indian cricketer and opening batsman who has played for the India Under-19 team. Arjun is also the captain of the UTCA U23 and U25 teams. The second chief guest was Sahil Sharma, the CEO of Nucleo Analytics private limited. Thier presence and words of encouragement were a significant source of inspiration for the young athletes.
Participation and Events
A total of 108 students took part in the Athletic Meet, with 63 students representing the Chandigarh Education Centre and 45 students from the Mohali Education Centre. The meet featured a variety of athletic games designed to test the students’ speed, agility, and teamwork. The events included:
– 100-metre race
– Frog race
– Sack race
– Three-legged race
– Ribbon race
– A cricket match between teams from Mohali and Chandigarh
Highlights of the Event
One of the event’s highlights was the closely contested cricket match, where the Chandigarh team emerged victorious by a narrow margin of 7 runs. This victory was a testament to the skill and determination of the Chandigarh students.
In addition to the athletic events, refreshments were provided to all participants, ensuring they remained energized and hydrated throughout the day. The teachers and staff members of Ryan International School played a crucial role in the smooth execution of the event, offering their full support and cooperation.
Results and Conclusion
The Athletic Meet concluded with the Chandigarh Education Centre emerging as the overall winner, securing 45 points. The Mohali Education Centre put up a commendable performance, earning 40 points. The event was a resounding success, showcasing the talents and sportsmanship of the students from both education centres.
